D is for Decisions: Life Lessons From A-Z [My Quarter of a Century Birthday Post Series]
D - Decisions. Most decisions don’t have to be made
immediately; there is usually more time available to make them then what other
people will try to dictate or perceive you to believe. If you have to talk
yourself into believing that the decision is a good decision, it probably
isn’t. Better to walk away now than live with the consequences of agreeing to a
decision that you don’t believe is a good one. Not making a decision is still
making a decision-embrace that potential. It’s perfectly fine to say “no” and
walk away from the situation. Years from now when you are older and wiser, you
will probably admire yourself for standing up for what you didn’t agree with.
Plus, those times make a great teaching lesson to tell your children.
